The easiest option. Privnote

Easy and intuitive service for sending one-time notes. There is no Russian version, but working with Privnote is easy:

1. Go to the main page of the service.

2. Create a note.

3. You send the text, in return you get a unique link of the form

4. Send to the recipient by e-mail from the same page or copy the link to Telegram, WhatsApp, Viber, etc.

5. You can also specify your e-mail. Then the service will send you a message to it when the recipient reads your note.

After reading the message will be automatically deleted.

The service checks the communication channels. If he determines that you or your interlocutor are listening, he will cancel the message.

And if you mistakenly sent a message to the wrong place, just open it here. The message will self-destruct and no one else will read it. After 30 days, all unread messages are deleted automatically.

Real email. Onetimesecret

Onetimesecret works the same way. But here you can create a temporary email address and account to set “pass phrases for greater security” and activate additional privacy settings. Pass phrases are valid for a certain time - from 5 minutes to 7 days.

The creators of the service note that Onetimesecret is convenient for sending passwords, links that are not relevant for a long time, etc. Nobody bothers to send the link to another source, but the service, of course, after the first opening will erase only the link, not the file itself.

Unread messages are deleted after 7 days for anonymous users and after 14 days for owners of free accounts. In one message, you can send up to 100 KB of information.

How safe is it? Of course, service owners can theoretically see what you sent. But, for example, if you pass the password, they do not know what account it is from. If you enter a pass phrase, then it is used to encrypt the message, and the service will no longer be able to decrypt it without this phrase (it is alleged that it does not store the phrase).

But the messages not saved in chat history. Even if someone tries to open the transmitted links, they themselves will not be able to read the messages (if you or the addressee have read them before). Conveniently.

By the way, if you sent a message, and the interlocutor could not read it, then the service has established that they are listening to it. Not a 100% guarantee, but a reason to think.

Another self-deleting mail. Destructing message

The Destructing Message service has been operating since 2006, and has not been noticed in data leakage scandals. In the form on the main page, you can create a message and select the time (from 45 seconds to 5 minutes) after which the message is destroyed. In response, a link is generated.

Only one user can read a message. After clicking on the link, the note will be automatically deleted. The service itself stores unread messages for 90 days.

Sending messages anonymous. Indicate e-mail, phone number or other contacts just nowhere.

How to send self-destructing emails in Gmail

For Gmail, there is a Dmail plugin for the Chrome browser. He makes ordinary letters self-destruct.

After installation, the extension is activated automatically. By default, messages are never deleted, but for each letter you can configure this option: delete after an hour, day or week.

If the recipient has Dmail installed, he will receive a link to read the letter in the browser. If not, the recipient will see a regular e-mail.

The only problem is that the encryption of letters occurs on the side of the extension for the browser, but the decryption key is contained in the letter. So the technical ability to read messages from developers remains.

In the future, the service should have paid accounts with the functions of a ban on message redirection and encryption of attachments.

By the way, in Gmail itself, you can enable the function of recalling letters sent by mistake. This is done in the settings (button in the upper right corner) - the item “Cancel sending” - “Enable the function of canceling sending”.

Here you can set the time interval during which you can refuse to send a message.

After activating the letter mode, the specified time is in the draft. In order not to send it, just delete the message on the “Drafts” tab. The function works only for new messages.

And where else are self-destructing messages?

Messages that are deleted automatically are in popular instant messengers. In secret Telegram chats, as well as in personal correspondence.

In secret chats, you need to click on the clock icon. On iOS, it is located on the text input panel, on Android, on the top panel. The message will be destroyed after the selected amount of time after reading by your interlocutor. It is deleted from both devices.

Self destruction also works for files that you share. To send a file with a limited "expiration date", insert it into the chat, and then click on the timer button in the lower right corner of the screen.

AT Viber the system is similar, but the timer button is in the lower left corner.

Self-destructing messages are a handy thing. Firstly, they get rid of irrelevant information. Secondly, they delight internal paranoid and increase the safety of correspondence.
